We are a well established photographic association having been in existence for over 116 years. We have over 40 members covering those new to photography to internationaly recognised judges and lecturers Our members would welcome the opportunity to give guidance and share knowledge and experience with those seeking assistance on improving their skills in both conventional dark room photography and digital imaging.

We meet on Thursday evenings at 7.15pm

SOUTH SHIELDS PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY has been in existence since 1913, we are a group of enthusiasts with over 50 members who have a keen interest in all types of photography including digital technology (indeed this is an exciting time with the scope computers have opened up).We meet at St Michaels And All Angels Parish Church,Westoe Road, South Shields every Tuesday starting at 7:30pm - 10:00pm from September to May. The syllabus consists of lectures on all types of photography, practical nights, internal competitions and also competitions with other local clubs within the Northern Counties Photographic Federation. New members are always welcome and can attend for a few weeks free of charge.
Annual subscription are as follows;-

Adult Member = £15.00
Junior Member = £5.00
Second Member (at same address) = £5.00

Our aim is to allow members to ENJOY the hobby
of photography without the pressures that can be involved in a College course. The learning comes
from listening to our visiting Lecturers and Judges
and also by asking the questions that are applicable to YOUR problems. We take great pride in the friendliness the Club offers to any prospective new member and you can visit the club for free, for four weeks, before being asked if you wish to join.
We meet EVERY Friday night (except Christmas & New Year) and the meetings start at 7.45pm prompt.

South Shields Movie Makers was established in 1959.

We are a group of dedicated video makers who meet most Thursdays (see syllabus) starting at 7.30pm prompt. We have a good variety of Speakers, Judges & 'In-house' evenings to satisfy everyone.

Durham Photographic Society, unlike many similar societies we meet almost all year round- closing
only in August. As usual the Society offers a wide range of events for the year. These include presentations by guest speakers and our own members, visiting exhibitions, competitions and tuition.Our membership continues to increase. We welcome anyone interested in photography to our Society. It is home to a wide range of photographic tastes and interests.
