Durham Photographic Society, unlike many similar societies we meet almost all year round- closing
only in
August. As usual the Society offers a wide range of events for the year. These include presentations
by guest speakers and our own members, visiting exhibitions, competitions and tuition.
Our membership continues to increase. We welcome anyone interested in photography to our Society. It is home to a wide range of photographic tastes and interests. Life After Stroke Photography
All of the group are stroke survivors. The group is a
way of getting out and about through photography
based meetings and outings. It is a chance to continue with your interest or start a new interest in photography.
Not all the group own a camera but still come along

We are a well established photographic association
having been in existence for over 116 years. We have
over 40 members covering those new to photography
to internationaly recognised judges and lecturers Our
members would welcome the opportunity to give
guidance and share knowledge and experience with
those seeking assistance on improving their skills in both
conventional dark room photography and digital imaging. |

We are an enthusiastic group of Photographers of Conventional Film Photography as well as Digital
Photography and we run Regular Print and DPI (Digital Projected Image) Competitions throughout the
year as well as local club battles and one off competitions. Society Meetings vary from lectures on
all types of photography by nationally renowned photographers to practical nights and competitions.
No matter what your photographic experience, whether a few weeks or a few decades, your sure to
find something to inspire you and improve your photography. Why not come along to a few meetings
to find out more? There is no obligation to join, but if you do you will find the small fee excellent value.

South Shields Movie Makers was established in 1959.
We are a group of dedicated video makers who
meet most Thursdays (see syllabus) starting at 7.30pm prompt. We have a good variety of Speakers, Judges & 'In-house' evenings to satisfy everyone.

Our aim is to allow members to ENJOY the hobby
of photography without the pressures that can be involved in a College course. The learning comes
from listening to our visiting Lecturers and Judges
and also by asking the questions that are applicable
to YOUR problems. We take great pride in the friendliness the Club offers to any prospective new member and you can visit the club for free, for four weeks, before being asked if you wish to join.
We meet EVERY Friday night (except Christmas & New Year) and the meetings start at 7.45pm prompt. |
