A 12m precision-engineered 4x optical zoom (equivalent to a 28-112mm lens on
a full-frame camera) delivers incredible image quality and excellent depth-of-field control.
f/2-2.8 Fujinon optical 4x zoom lens
A triumph of engineering and optical design. The FinePix X10 boasts a 4x optical zoom equivalent to a 28-112mm f/2-2.8 lens on a DSLR camera. Not only does it deliver exceptional optical performance but its compact design, which collapses in the X10’s body, makes the camera easy to take everywhere with you. A single twist of the lens zoom ring and your X10 is powered up and ready to shoot.
State-of-the-art optical design
The FinePix X10’s lens uses only glass of the very best optical quality to give you the performance you’d expect of a premium photographic tool. 11 optical elements are arranged in nine groups and make use of aspheric lenses as well as extra low dispersion (ED) and high-refractive index glass. Professional performance in a compact body, right through the zoom range and even at wide aperture settings.
Three aspherical lenses for incredible sharpness
Aspherical lens elements ensure that all of the light passing through the X10’s lens is focused in the same place. This ensures biting sharpness right across the frame and lets Fuji’s optical engineers design a smaller zoom lens unit without compromising on performance.
ED lens elements that prevent colour fringing
Two extra low dispersion (ED) lens elements help tackle chromatic aberrations – otherwise known as colour fringing. Even under high magnification image from the X10 are packed with contrast and lively colour, and free from unwanted artefacts.
Modulation transfer function (MTF) curve
Modulation Transfer Function (MTF) charts indicate strong optical performance at both the centre and the edges of the frame. Exceptional sharpness is recorded throughout the entire zoom range.
Super Electron Beam Coating for resistance to flare
Fuji’s unique Super Electron Beam Coating (EBC) has been used to treat every element in the X10’s zoom lens. This is the same process used in the manufacture of Fujinon broadcast video and large-format photography lenses. It dramatically reduces the effect of flare – light bouncing around inside the lens when shooting in bright conditions.
Optical image stabilisation for shake-free pictures
A newly developed optical image stabilisation (OIS) system detects camera movement and compensates for it by shifting a group of five lens elements in response. The result is sharp, clear pictures even in low light when shutter speeds are often long. The FinePix X10’s OIS system overcomes problems surrounding other image stabilisation technologies, such as light fall-off towards the edges of the frame and a drop in optical resolution.
Beautiful bokeh
A wide maximum aperture helps X10 photographers restrict depth of field. Perfect for shooting portraits against an out-of-focus background. A seven-bladed diaphragm ensures soft natural-looking background blur – a quality otherwise known as bokeh.
Revolutionary optical zoom viewfinder
See every detail, right across the frame
A high-quality optical viewfinder that is a pleasure to use. Compose with brightness and clarity and see every detail from corner to corner.

Specialist optics for a brighter image A Dach prism ensures the finder image is as bright as possible while the camera’s design stays compact.
Diopter adjustment dial
A diopter control lets you adjust the FinePix X10’s viewfinder according to your own eyesight. Correction is available from -3.5 to +1.5. The viewfinder eyepiece is comfortable in use, even for spectacle wearers.
